HMBR represents municipalities and other units of local government on a variety of matters including construction disputes, zoning issues, environmental clean-up, Clean Air Act violations, employment matters and insurance coverage disputes. Patrick Deady, one of the partners in the firm, is the Village attorney for the Village of Hillside, Illinois and has handled litigation for a number of other local units of government, including Bloom Township, Bremen Township and the City of Chicago Heights. The firm has also handled litigation for the City of Calumet, Chicago State University and the Office of the Governor of the State of Illinois.
